ROUND THE GARDEN makes thoughtfully embellished womenswear that are designed and handmade by me - Shaoai - founder of RtG.
The brand was created with the intention of slowing down the overconsumption of fashion through offering made-to-order pieces with durable materials, versatile silhouettes and thoughtful craftsmanship. I hope with a deeper awareness of the people who make our clothes and the care that goes into their creations, we form a more meaningful connection with what we wear - one that inspires us to cherish, maintain, and extend the life of our garments.
ROUND THE GARDEN is about the belief in making by hand and a commitment to quality, knowing that good things take time.
Fabrics
All our garments are made with 100% Liberty Tana Lawn cotton. Please see RtG fabric catalogue. My goal is that by the end of 2025, all of our collections are made with 100% organic fabrics only.
Threads
Ready to ship items during our Spring 2025 launch are sewn with unbranded polyester threads. Any new items after the launch will use Gutermann Recycled Eco Sewing Thread.
Production
How are RtG garments made? By whom? The answer is...all by myself, Shaoai, in my home studio in east London. I draft patterns for every design, work out the grading for every size, sew every stitch, and iron every inch (it rhymes hehe).
Waste
Off-cuts of fabrics during the sewing process are collected and used in creating one of a kind pieces. Follow our instagram to get updates about those special pieces!
